Welcome

My name is John Tovell. I am a self taught part time painter and artist and I live in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. My art is mainly surreal. I found an interest in the subject in my mid 20's.

This website allows me to present some of the paintings that I have created on a casual basis over the last 10 years or so.

I have shown these pictures to only a few people. I have always wanted to show them to a wider audience but have been concerned about what people might think of what I know is an unusual style. I know that some of the images, meanings and intrepetations might seem strange to others.

I have enjoyed looking at these pictures though from time to time to reflect on what they mean to me. I would be grateful for feedback by anyone out there. I hope to add further pictures in the future. For further information on me or my paintings please see the about me page
